Holidays for Specific Groups

Holidays and Commemorative Days for Specific Groups (National Public Holidays and Commemorative Days Regulation Article 3)

  • (1) Women's Day (March 8) - Women have a half-day off
  • (2) Youth Day (May 4) - Youth aged 14 to 28 have a half-day off
  • (3) Children's Day (June 1) - Children under 14 have one day off
  • (4) PLA Founding Day (August 1) - Active military personnel have a half-day off

If a holiday for specific groups falls on a Saturday or Sunday, there will be no additional day off.

  1. The State Council usually announces the holiday arrangements for the following year in November or December. “Public holidays for 2024”
