Holidays for Specific Groups

Holidays and Commemorative Days for Specific Groups (National Public Holidays and Commemorative Days Regulation Article 3)

If a holiday for specific groups falls on a Saturday or Sunday, there will be no additional day off.

The State Council usually announces the holiday arrangements for the following year in November or December. “Public holidays for 2025”
The legal basis for statutory holidays is stipulated as follows. “State Council Decree Amending the Regulations on National Public Holidays” (国务院关于修改〈全国年节及纪念日放假办法〉的决定) (Issued on November 10, 2024) Due to the legal amendments in November 2024, the number of statutory holidays will increase by two starting from 2025.
1. The statutory holiday for the Spring Festival will be from the lunar New Year's Eve to the 3rd day of the lunar New Year, a total of four days (Lunar New Year's Eve will also be a statutory holiday).
2. The statutory holidays for Labor Day will be May 1st and 2nd (May 2nd will also be a statutory holiday).
